Please note: While actual expenses can vary widely from student to student, the above semester budget is a reasonable estimate for the Fall 2005 and Spring 2006 terms.

1 Rates are for full-time undergraduate enrollment in Main Campus courses.  Full-time enrollment for undergraduate students is 12-17 hours per regular semester.  Some courses have individual rates, which are not included in above budget.   For complete tuition information, click here.

2 Course Fees will vary depending on the student's actual course enrollment. This amount should be used as a per semester average.

3 UA offers a wide range of on-campus living options that include apartments, some including utilities (ranging from $360 to $675) and dorm rooms.  Rate is per person for a standard double room and includes: rent, utilities, basic cable television, high speed Internet and local phone services. 4 All undergraduates are billed $300 per semester, along with other registration charges, to establish a Dining Dollars account, which is set up automatically on each student’s Action Card. Dining Dollars can be used to purchase meals and snacks from all Bama Dining locations, selected campus vending machines, and selected off-campus dining facilities. 5 The cost here reflects an optional 160 block meal plan. Bama Dining offers several optional plans. For more information, click here for Bama Dining web site.

6 In addition to the costs listed above personal expenses, which will vary from student to student, should be considered. Student Financial Aid makes financial aid awards based on an estimated on-campus budget (including personal expenses) of $8,392.00 per semester for Alabama residents and $13,036.00 for out-of-state students. If you will have an automobile/motorcycle on campus, you will need to purchase a parking decal (cost $80.00) from Parking Services. For more information, click here for Parking Services.
