The Summer Term consists of several sessions - a 3-week interim and two 5-week summer sessions. This Estimated Summer Budget assumes enrollment of 6 hours in each 5-week session for a total of 12 hours in the summer term. 1 For complete Summer 2010 undergraduate summer tuition information, click here. 2 College/Course Fees - College or course fees are additional charges associated with a student's specific class enrollment for each term. College fees apply to any course offered by a college. Rates vary by college. Click here to see rates per college. The estimated average cost for college/course fees for the Summer Term is $200.00. 3 UA offers a wide range of on-campus living options that include apartments (some include utilities) and dorm rooms. Rate is per person for a standard double room and includes: rent, utilities, base cable television, high speed internet and local phone services for two 5 week sessions. For more information, click here for the Housing and Residential Communities web site. 4 The cost listed reflects an optional 20-meals block plan for the Summer Term. Meal plans can be purchased at any time during the summer. For more information, click here for Bama Dining web site. 5 All undergraduate students are billed $100 for Dining Dollars per Summer Term, along with other registration charges, when enrolled for 5 or more hours in the summer term. A Dining Dollars account will automatically be established on each student’s Action Card. Dining Dollars can be used to purchase meals and snacks from all Bama Dining locations, selected campus vending machines, and select off-campus dining facilities. For more information on the Action Card, click here. 6 In addition to the costs listed above, personal expenses, which will vary from student to student, should be considered. If you have an automobile/motorcycle on campus during the summer and did not have a parking decal for Fall 2009/Spring 2010, you will need to obtain one from Parking Services. The cost (varies depending on type of decal) will be added to the student's account. PAYMENT PLANS Deferred Payment Plan: One-half of the summer term charges for tuition, college/course fees, residence hall, dining dollars and meal plan may be deferred until July 10 for a $30 deferment fee.
